We pride ourselves on providing continuing professional development for people at all stages of their vocational journey, from Sixth Former to Executive Headship! Please read on to find out more about the wide range of opportunities that we have on offer at Xavier. If you are interested in discussing any of this further, please get in touch and speak with a member of the team via vocations@xaviercet.org.uk.

Qualified Teachers

As a trust, we currently employ over 500 teachers to work across our schools. Whilst Teach South East provide us with the majority of our qualified teachers, we are always pleased to welcome applicants for positions from outside of the organisation whether they be new qualified Early Career Teachers, or experience colleagues on the Upper Pay Spine. Our schools are all happy, professional and successful organisations that know how important it is to look after staff well and our teachers therefore, thoroughly enjoy working with us and the wonderful children that we have the pleasure of teaching.

Given the ambitious nature of our staff and the ongoing expansion of the trust’s remit, we are always pleased to meet potential future colleagues. Even if there doesn’t appear to be a relevant vacancy advertised at any of our schools currently, we would still encourage you to get in touch as we already be aware of an upcoming opportunity.

Middle & Senior Leaders

Highly effective leadership is key to everything we do at Xavier and we have a track-record of finding, developing and promoting great leaders. Given the number of senior leaders and Headteachers in the region who started their career in a Xavier school, aspirational teachers often join us with a view to learn what great leadership looks like before moving on to further promotion. If you are looking to take on additional responsibility and develop your skills as leader in a high performance organisation, we would love to hear from you.

Special Educational Needs

Xavier schools pride themselves on offering exceptional provision for all students regardless of their starting points. All of our schools cater for a wide range of additional need and rely on staff who are willing to dedicate themselves to supporting the most vulnerable. The team includes qualified teachers with specialist qualifications, educational psychologists, counsellors and assistants.

Learning Support Assistants at Xavier benefit from extensive training, often leading to additional qualifications, which enables them to support children who may otherwise have struggled, to achieve amazing things!

The Graduate Teaching Assistant Scheme offers a route into teaching for those who wish to gain school experience and many choose to embark on this in the year prior to their Initial Teacher Training.

Support Staff

You don’t have to be a teacher to embrace a vocation in education! With a turnover of over £40M, we rely on a substantial and high-performing business function to ensure that Xavier is an innovative, efficient and effective organisation that secures great value for money for our children. In our central team and in each of our schools we employ people in a range of business and administrative roles from apprentices to the COO of the Trust.

Staff employed at every level benefit from professional development and support to progress in the organisation and as a recognised centre of excellence, we pride ourselves on securing the fulfilment, happiness and well-being of all our staff. We are always on the lookout for the next person to join the team and if you think you have the skills to contribute to a business that aims to make world-class education provision for children then we want to hear from you!
